Prayer update

It is comforting to know that we plant, others may water, but that God is faithful to give the increase. About a year ago in a visit to Ganpurev's, I ran into one of his relatives whose name is Sambil. We talked about Jesus Christ and His claims. At the time Sambil was rather opposed to Jesus Christ claiming that Mongolians were Buddhist. But we had planted a seed.

Ganpurev met Sambil again a couple of weeks ago. He was surprised to learn that Sambil was interested in the Bible. Sambil had run into a friend of his whose life had been transformed by Jesus Christ. His friend took him to his church where the seed that we had planted was watered.

Knowing of Sambil's interest in the Bible, Tuesday night Ganpurev and I went together to visit Sambil's place. We were excited to see that his multitude of idols had been cleared out of their prominent place in his home. He was eager to talk about the Bible. I was glad to see Ganpurev do a good job of teaching.

Ganpurev later remarked to me that he took great encouragement from Sambil's seeming change of heart. First of all, it is his first relative (his cousin) who has shown more than a passing interest in Jesus Christ. Second, he told me that if someone like Sambil can become a Christian, then anyone can become a Christian. Sambil has a wife and four grown children who live at home, all of whom are not Christians. But the door is open for us to return and continue to preach Christ to the family. Please pray with me for the salvation of Sambil's family.
