Mother's Day in Mongolia

There is no Mother's Day in Mongolia. They celebrate International Women's Day in March but the emphasis is on women in general not mothers necessarily. We took advantage of the American Mother's Day holiday to honor Kristie. I made breakfast and took the family out to an afternoon dinner. The children made cards for their mother. And late in the evening, Kristie and I both called our mothers in Oregon. (It was Mother's Day morning, their time).

We had another good turnout on Sunday with a dozen Mongolian adults and 28 people total counting Mongolians and foreigners. Bilgee continues to bring people out; this last Sunday a co-worker that he invited came to visit bringing along his wife and son.

Continue to pray for men to be saved. Buren continues to come regularly. I wonder sometimes what is going through his head.

The weather here has been normal for spring. Days of beautiful, warm weather interspersed with snow flurries. Last Wednesday, the high was 84° F. The low on Saturday was 21° F, but temperatures returned to the high 70's on Sunday. Sometimes it is hard to know how to dress.
